Stephan was born in Los Angeles, California but lived most of his life in South Korea. He was also fortunate enough to spend some parts of his early childhood in Eugene, Oregon. He grew up in a family of musicians with his mother, a pianist, and his sister, a violinist. But he was usually the one trailing his dad, playing catch, shooting hoops, and tagging along to the office, where he liked to pretend that he was a businessman himself.

Before joining Longwave, Stephan interned for the Deals advisor team at PwC Korea, specifically the Financial Services and Real Estate team. There he deepened his interest and passion for asset management and the markets by supporting investment plans and development projects. Seeing how his work shaped real buildings, businesses, and communities made him want to work in a setting where he could follow investments over time and contribute more directly to long-term outcomes for clients

Stephan completed his military service for South Korea as a KATUSA soldier, working closely with both U.S. and ROK Army soldiers. Serving by choice while already being a U.S. citizen, he took on a liaison role during joint exercises, helping bridge language and cultural gaps to maintain clear communication. The experience strengthened his sense of responsibility, teamwork, and commitment, which he carries into his work today.

Stephan loves watching and playing sports and is a fan of the Manchester United Football Club and the Phoenix Suns. He also enjoys playing the cello. Stephan is excited to join the team at Longwave Financial and contribute to thoughtful, research-driven investing that supports clients’ long-term goals.
