Socrates - a North Jersey native born to Greek and Colombian parents – grew up with a diversity of cultures and traditions. In this spirit, his early years were also filled with an eclectic roster of extracurriculars including Greek dancing, ballroom dancing, swimming, tennis, and tons of international travel. In many ways, the most formative activity came from his heavy involvement in music and orchestra – starting at first on the violin and eventually finding his home in the trumpet section. Socrates was lucky enough to tour with the NJ Ambassadors of Music on multiple occasions across most of Europe and China. He has performed everywhere from Carnegie Hall to the Vienna Konzerthaus to Beijing’s Forbidden City.  Although his performance days are mostly behind him, Socrates still enjoys learning new songs on the piano to play for his own happiness.

In 2018, Socrates graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in Economics and concentrations in Business and Information Science. He began his career as a Financial Planner for a couple of independent advisory firms in North Jersey, servicing both domestic and international high net worth clients, from families to celebrities to C-Suite executives. In 2024, Socrates obtained his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® certification, administered by the CFP Board which demands rigorous education, examination, and ethics requirements. Additionally, he studies new rules and changes in the financial planning fields and enjoys tracking overall macroeconomic trends with a cosmopolitan lens. Like in medicine, Socrates believes good treatment is preceded by good diagnosis and applies this philosophy professionally by truly getting to know Longwave clients in a meaningful way. In his current role as a Client Relationship Manager, he finds that there is no better feeling than knowing he made a positive difference in the lives of wonderful people. 

Outside of professional passions, Socrates also has a love for animals, philosophy, motorcycles, physics, cooking, and travel. You might also find him professionally DJing weddings and parties on the weekend.
